Sedgwick County hospitals are at capacity because of high levels of influenza-like illnesses.

At 10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 14, media is invited to the Sedgwick County Public Safety Center, 714 N. Main, for a briefing on serious illnesses in Sedgwick County.

Hospital officials will be in attendance to speak about the status of area hospitals, and options for those in need of medical care for the flu and other illnesses. Claudia Blackburn, director of the Sedgwick County Health Department, will also discuss flu signs and symptoms, and prevention.
