New Sedgwick County Register of Deeds To Take Oath of Office

The new Sedgwick County Register of Deeds will take the oath of office at 4 p.m. today at 525 N. Main, Suite 227. Tonya Buckingham will fill the remainder of Bill Meek’s term. Meek passed away on January 10 at the age of 71.

Buckingham has served Sedgwick County as chief deputy register of deeds since 2005. She was elected last week to fill the vacancy by the Sedgwick County Republican Party precinct committee. The election was then approved by Governor Brownback on January 22nd .
