No-Cost, COVID-19 Testing
- Sedgwick County Health Department provides COVID-19 tests for uninsured adults, uninsured children, and children with CHIP or Medicaid/KanCare.
- Eligible individuals are tested by appointment only at SCHD’s Main Clinic (2716 W. Central).
- To make a testing appointment, call 316-660-7300.
- To self-report at-home COVID-19 test results, visit https://www.sedgwickcounty.org/covid-19/sampling-and-testing-information/covid-19-at-home-test-self-reporting-website/
- SCHD will provide up-to-date quarantine and isolation guidance to people who submit positive results and to people who test negative but were a close contact of someone with COVID-19.

Sedgwick County Health Department COVID-19 Vaccine Information
SCHD offers no-cost COVID-19 vaccine to uninsured adults, uninsured children and children covered by CHIP and Medicaid/KanCare at its Main Clinic, 2716 W. Central. Eligible individuals can call 
316-660-7300 to make an appointment. The Main Clinic offers vaccinations for eligible children
6 months and older.
Sedgwick County provides Comirnaty (Pfizer) vaccine (for people 5 and older) or one-dose Johnson and Johnson (for people 18 and older) at walk-in clinics across the County. 5 are not offered at SCHD mobile vaccine clinics. ***
- Comirnaty/Pfizer – fully approved COVID-19 vaccine for individuals 16 and older
- Pfizer – under emergency use authorization (EUA) for individuals 6 months to 15 years old and for the administration of a third dose in certain individuals with weakened immune systems
- Johnson and Johnson (J&J) – under emergency use authorization for individuals 18 and older who cannot receive or choose not to receive the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines.
- You are not considered fully vaccinated until two weeks after receiving your vaccination:
- One shot for Johnson and Johnson vaccine
- Second shot for Comirnaty/Pfizer vaccines
 
- Everyone, especially minors, are encouraged to eat a meal or snack prior to arriving to prevent any nausea that may occur following vaccination.
- If you are receiving a vaccine, the Sedgwick County Health Department recommends staying well hydrated before and after receiving your dose.

SCHD provides the following COVID-19 vaccine booster doses:
- For people 5 and older, a Pfizer booster 5 months or more after a second Pfizer dose.
- For people 18 and older, a Pfizer booster 5 months or more after their second dose of Moderna vaccine or two months or more after receiving J&J vaccine.
SCHD provides second booster doses of Pfizer vaccine to the following groups:
- People ages 50 and older who received their first booster dose four months ago.
- People 18-49 years old who received a J&J primary dose, and who received a J&J booster dose four months ago.
- People 12 and older who are moderately to severely immunocompromised, and who received their first booster dose four months ago.

Sedgwick County Updates
- Sedgwick County Health Department follows CDC’s newly established COVID-19 Community Level framework.
- COVID-19 Community Level is based on case counts, hospital admissions and hospital capacity, and is reflected in a color-coded system indicating low, medium and high community levels.
- Sedgwick County’s current COVID-19 Community Level is low.
 
- On December 30, 2021, KDHE updated its quarantine and isolation guidance for health-care workers in hospital settings and for the general public. Sedgwick County Health Department has reviewed and adopted KDHE’s guidance. The information is summarized below:
