A Wichita man who robbed pharmacies for drugs was sentenced.

WICHITA, KAN. – A man who robbed six pharmacies in Wichita has been sentenced to prison. On Monday, District Judge Eric Williams sentenced Steven Stone, 42 of Wichita, to 122 months in prison with 36 months post release.
All six robberies happened between 2021 and 2022 at Walgreens Pharmacies. Stone took hydrocodone from the 21st and Maize Road location on August 19, 2021. On November 21, Stone held up the Walgreens at 1555 S. Broadway and showed the pharmacy technician a note that read, “Give me one bottle of hydrocodone or I’ll shoot.” On December 15, 2021, Stone robbed the pharmacy at 21st and Maize a second time, taking a bottle of 500 hydrocodone pills. On January 26, 2022, Stone robbed the Walgreens at Central and West Street, using another threatening note. The next robbery was at the Walgreens at the corner of 13th and Waco where Stone showed the man behind the counter a gun and a note that read, “Give me Narcos or I will start shooting.” The final robbery by Stone was March 18th, 2022 at the pharmacy at Central and West Street.
Pharmacy cameras and video from neighboring businesses were used to track Stone. Along with the photographs and eyewitness descriptions from pharmacy employees, Wichita Police used cell tower information to track Stone’s cell phone. He was taken into custody at his home in the 1800 block of N. Shefford Circle on March 18, 2022.
