Financial Abuse Specialist Team (F.A.S.T.)

In 2008 the District Attorney’s Office in Sedgwick County created the Financial Abuse Specialist Team (FAST). This is a specialized fraud unit, working with concerned members of the community, to address the growing problem of financial abuse of the elderly.

Involuntary Commitment

A medical provider or COMCARE may file a petition in the District Court alleging a patient is in need of care and treatment due to a mental illness. The involuntary commitment process is a civil action and is not a criminal action.
