Jury finds Wichita Man Guilty as Charged in Death of 1 year old child

WICHITA, KS — On Monday, September 21, 2026, a jury found 20-year-old Roames Bonner guilty of First-Degree Murder, two counts of Aggravated Battery, and two counts of Criminal Discharge of a Firearm, the Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office announced today.
The charges are related to a February 19, 2024, shooting incident that resulted in the death of a 1-year-old child and gunshot wounds to 2 adult females.
Sentencing is scheduled for November 13, 2026, before Judge Jeffrey Goering.
The Office of the District Attorney thanks Detective Addie Perkins and the Wichita Police department for their work on this case. The case was prosecuted by Chief Assistant District Attorneys Alice Osburn and Mandee Schauf.
