Sedgwick County Deputy charged with battery

[WICHITA, KANSAS] – The Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office today announced that it has formally filed one count of Misdemeanor Battery against Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Deputy Brett Anderson in connection with a September 11, 2025, use of force incident.

The charge follows the completion of an independent criminal investigation by the Wichita Police Department (WPD), which was requested by the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office.

Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation and impending legal proceedings, no further details will be released at this time. All criminal defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
