SEDGWICK COUNTY MAN SENTENCED TO MAXIMUM TERM FOR OFFENDER REGISTRATION VIOLATION, BATTERY CONVICTIONS

WICHITA, Kan. — Ishara Samson was sentenced yesterday to the maximum penalty available under Kansas law following convictions in two separate criminal cases, the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s office announced.
Judge Kevin Smith sentenced Samson to 36 months in the Kansas Department of Corrections for Offender Registration Violation and 12 months in the Sedgwick County jail on two counts of Battery.
Judge Smith ordered the sentences to run consecutively, meaning Samson must complete his prison term before beginning his jail sentence. In total, Samson will serve 36 months in state prison followed by 12 months in county jail.
