****UPDATE***

National School Bus Safety Week October 22nd through October 25th

The week of October 22nd through October 25th, the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, Wichita Police Department, Kansas Highway Patrol, Maize Police Department, and Haysville Police Department conducted a Multi-Agency school bus ride-a-long project with the assistance of Maize USD 266, and Haysville USD 261 Transportation Departments.  A total of 15 personnel consisting of project supervisors, marked patrol units, unmarked patrol units and motor units participated in the special project.

During the week, a total of 14 school bus stop sign violators were stopped and issued citations. The agencies involved will continue to make this a top priority to monitor and issue citations when applicable to ensure the safety of our children.  Special thanks to everyone involved.
