Detention Academy Graduation Announcement 12.11.18

The Wichita/Sedgwick County Law Enforcement Training Center proudly announces the graduation ceremony for the 2018 Fall Detention Academy Class of the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office. The Commencement will be held at 7:00 P.M on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at the Central Community Church. This is located at 6100 W. Maple, Wichita, KS 67209. 

Sedgwick County Sheriff Jeff Easter will welcome the 18 new Deputies to the Sheriff’s Office. This transition comes after completing 11 weeks of Basic Academy Training which included such topics as interpersonal communication, policy and procedure, legal issues, computer training, and defense tactics. 

After graduation, the recruits will begin several weeks of field training, where they will work as partners with Veteran Deputies in the Detention Facility.                                                         

A reception for the Graduates, family members, friends and honored guests will follow the ceremony at the Wichita/Sedgwick County Law Enforcement Training Center.
