Detention Academy Graduation Announcement

Fifteen Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Detention Deputies will graduate from the Wichita/Sedgwick County Law Enforcement Training Center at 10:00am, on Friday, September 22, 2017, at the Pathway Church located at 2001 N. Maize Road, Wichita, Kansas.

Their 11 weeks of basic academy training included such topics as interpersonal communication, policy and procedure, legal issues, computer training, defensive tactics, riot control, and crisis intervention training.

After graduation, the new deputies will begin six weeks of field training, where they will work as partners with veteran deputies.

A reception for the graduates, family members, and honored guests will follow the ceremony.
