Detention Deputy Arrested 3.31.23

Off-duty Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office Detention Deputy Aaron Burr was arrested last night on suspicion of driving under the influence by the Derby Police Department.  Burr was operating his personally owned vehicle and was not acting in any official capacity at the time of the arrest.

Aaron Burr has been employed by the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office since January 2022. Burr will remain fulfilling his job duties while he goes through the legal process. At the conclusion of the legal process, an internal investigation with our Professional Standards Unit will be conducted.
