Fatality Accident - 3.5.2021
On March 5, 2021 at 2:30 A.M a deputy attempted a traffic stop on a motorcycle and rider for a registration violation near the intersection of 47th Street South and Broadview. After the deputy turned on his overhead lights and siren the driver fled eastbound on the motorcycle. At the intersection of 47th Street South and Oliver the fleeing driver struck a raised median, ending the pursuit. The entire pursuit lasted approximately twenty-five seconds and covered less than one mile.
Timothy A. Tatum, a 37 year old male from Wichita, Kansas, was the driver of the motorcycle. Unfortunately, Timothy succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 2:38 A.M.
The accident is still under investigation at this time.
