Homicide Update - 3.31.20
***UPDATE***
Jeremy Tipton Shuflat, a 37 year old white male, from Wichita, Kansas, was booked for Murder in the First Degree.
Shuflat was arrested on March 28th, 2020 for warrants and booked in the Sedgwick County Adult Detention Facility. Shuflat was identified as the suspect in the homicide investigation of Zackary Tilson.
On March 27, 2020, at approximately 6:08 a.m., Sedgwick County Sheriff deputies were dispatched to vehicle parked on the roadway in the 5500 block of West 85th Street North. When deputies arrived, they located an unoccupied red Dodge pickup parked in the roadway.
As deputies were looking around the area, they found an unresponsive white male in the ditch. The man, in his 20s, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Sedgwick County Fire.
The victim of the homicide was identified as Zackary Tilson, a 26 year old white male, from Wichita, Kansas. The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office does not believe this to be a random crime. This is an active investigation, but we do not expect any other arrests.
Once the investigation is completed, all the facts and evidence will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office for charging.
