Inmate Suicide Attempt 06.18.22

On June 18, 2022, at approximately 2:55 P.M., a forty-year-old male inmate attempted suicide by asphyxiation at the Sedgwick County Detention Annex Facility.

 

Deputies immediately performed life saving measures and contacted Emergency Medical Services (EMS).  EMS arrived on scene at approximately 3:05 P.M. and transported the inmate to a local area hospital in critical condition.

 

Detention staff contacted the inmate’s family and authorized visitation at the hospital while he remained in custody.  

 

The Sheriff’s Office learned the inmate passed away on June 21, 2022.
