Sheriff's Office Recruit Graduation

The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office will host a combined Detention and Commissioned graduation ceremony at 7:00 PM, Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Pathway Church, located at 2101 N Maize Road, Wichita, Kansas. 

 

Seven detention recruits and eight commissioned recruits successfully completed their respective academy instruction at the Wichita/Sedgwick County Law Enforcement Training Center.

 

Their basic academy training included such topics as interpersonal communication, policy and procedure, legal issues, computer training, and defensive tactics. 

 

After graduation, the new deputies will begin several weeks of field training, where they will work as partners with veteran deputies.

 

A reception for the graduates, family members and honored guests will follow the ceremony at Pathway Church.
