For Immediate Release, February 29, 2024

WICHITA, KAN. – A woman who shot at a police officer inside an east Wichita grocery store has been sentenced. District Judge Jeffrey Syrios sentenced Danielle Robinson, 34 of Salina, to 196 months in prison.

On October 4, 2021, Robinson was inside the Whole Foods store at 1423 N. Webb Road, armed with a gun. She walked in and out of the store, pointing the pistol at the windows of the store from inside and outside. It appeared the woman was under the influence.

When two officers arrived, she refused to drop the gun and fired it once at the officers. Both fired back, wounding her. She was released from a hospital the next day.

Robinson was scheduled for a jury trial in June of this year but pled guilty on January 18th to two counts of attempted second degree murder, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and criminal possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
