Birth Support Classes
Birth Support Class Flyer - English

To learn the basics of birth planning and breastfeeding — attend one or both classes: Birth Planning Essentials
AND/OR Breastfeeding Essentials

  • No-cost 
  • One time, 1 1/2-hour classes
    (attend one or both classes)

Breastfeeding Essentials

  • Know what to expect in the first 24 hours
  • Understand why skin-to-skin contact matters
  • Learn about common infection concerns
  • Explore breastfeeding positions
  • Recognize signs of an ineffective latch
  • Understand what an adequate milk supply looks like

Birth Planning Essentials

  • Learn about your birth options

  • Know what to expect during your hospital stay

WHEN ARE THE CLASSES HELD?

Fourth Wednesday* of each month from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.

*Some classes may be held on the third Wednesday of the month due to a holiday. Additionally, some classes may be canceled due to low registration.​

Infant Caregiver Classes
Infant Caregiver Class Flyer - English

To help your village (parents, grandparents, relatives, and friends) feel confident caring for babies up to 12 months old

  • No cost
  • One time, 2-hour Class
  • Taught by Ascension Via Christi Nurses
  • Registration required

  • For caregivers of babies up to 12 months old
  • Everyone is welcome
WHAT WILL I LEARN?

Infant Caregiver Class

  • Safe sleep & swaddling
  • Feeding & nutrition
  • Water safety
  • Medication safety
  • Childproofing
  • Injury prevention
  • CPR* & choking basics

*This is not a CPR certification class, and it does not meet childcare licensing requirements. 

Some classes may be canceled due to low registration.​

WHEN ARE CLASSES HELD? Each class is held monthly on Thursdays (exact date varies) from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Interactive Virtual Breastfeeding Classes

To provide individualized breastfeeding education and support in an interactive, virtual setting

  • No Cost
  • Open to the public
  • ENGLISH: 2nd (second) Wednesday of each month from 12:00pm (noon) to 1:00pm 
  • SPANISH: 3rd (third) Wednesday of each month from 12:00pm (noon) to 1:00pm

WHEN ARE THE CLASSES HELD?

CLASSES IN ENGLISH

Breastfeeding classes in English are held on the 2nd (SECOND) Wednesday of each month from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m.

CLASSES IN SPANISH

Breastfeeding classes in Spanish are held on the 3rd (THIRD) Wednesday of each month from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m.
