Who Can Receive Care (No Out-of-Pocket Cost)​

Children and pregnant patients may qualify if they meet all required criteria shown below. Please contact us 

Dental Care for Children

To qualify for dental treatment at no out-of-pocket cost through the Sedgwick County Children’s Dental Clinic, children must meet the following requirements:

  • Live in Sedgwick County
  • Be uninsured for dental coverage, including private insurance and state programs such as Medicaid or KanCare
  • Be enrolled in school if school-aged
  • Participate in the free or reduced-price school meal program if school-aged
  • Provide proof of income if free or reduced-price meal documentation is unavailable
Services for Children May Include:
  • Dental exams
  • Cleanings
  • Fluoride treatments
  • Sealants
  • Basic restorative care
  • Oral health education
How the Clinic Works

The Children’s Dental Clinic works closely with schools, community partners, volunteers, and Wichita State University to provide dental care for eligible children in Sedgwick County.

  • Wichita State University dental hygiene students receive clinical instruction while providing preventive care under the supervision of clinic staff hygienists
  • Volunteer dentists and dental specialists from the community provide restorative and extraction services for children in need
  • More than 35 volunteer dental professionals support the clinic through donated time and services
Dental Care for Pregnant Clients

Preventive dental care during pregnancy can help support the health of both parent and baby.

To qualify for dental treatment at no out-of-pocket cost through the Sedgwick County Children’s Dental Clinic, pregnant patients must meet the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled in the WIC or the Healthy Babies program
  • Live in Sedgwick County
  • Must not have dental insurance, including private insurance and state programs such as Medicaid or KanCare (must be uninsured)
  • Meet income eligibility requirements
  • Provide proof of income and required documentation
Services During Pregnancy May Include:
  • Are enrolled in WIC or the Healthy Babies program.

  • Do not have dental insurance or Medicaid dental coverage
