2026-2027 School Year Immunization Requirements

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has released the 2026 School Year Required Immunizations for Kansas children. 

Additional information about the 2026-2027 school year requirements will be provided by late summer of 2026.

Required vaccinations for Kansas children, include:

  • DTaP (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis) 
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B 
  • MMR (measles, mumps, rubella)
  • Meningococcal ACWY
  • Polio
  • Varicella (chickenpox)
  • Hib (Haemophilus influenzae type b) - Early Childhood Programs only)
  • Pneumococcal conjugate (PCV) - Early childhood programs only

In addition to the required immunizations, the following vaccines are also recommended for school-aged children:

  • Human Papillomavirus (HPV) at 9 years old or older.
  • Annual influenza and COVID-19 vaccines for anyone age six months and older.
