Recognition Program

The Sedgwick County Developmental Disability Organization Recognition Program provides a platform to recognize and thank employees of affiliate organizations for their contributions, dedication, and commitment to the Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) community.  Recognition occurs quarterly.

Phase I

You Got Caught tokens:

Sedgwick County quality assurance staff recognizes direct support professionals on-site during quality oversight reviews of service locations within Sedgwick County. 

Phase II 

Employee of the Quarter:

Community members, persons served, guardians, affiliate organizations or volunteers may nominate an individual Targeted Case Manager (TCM) and/or a supervisor of direct support professionals who demonstrate exemplary job performance in the following areas.

Professionalism

Employee maintains professional boundaries and consistently displays positive attitude

Willingness to Collaborate

Employee works as a team member and openly engages other support team members

Advocacy

Employee takes action to ensure individual rights are not violated and pursues resources based on individual needs.

Robust Communication Skills

Employee exhibits the ability to communicate with consumers and support team effectively and timely.

Ethical Behavior

Employee maintains integrity, is honest during interactions and responds as appropriate

Ability to Manage Change

Employee remains effective in stressful situations, embraces the change and displays strong problem-solving skills

Consumer Engagement

Employee shows the ability to build rapport with all individuals served, provide appropriate redirection and treat individuals with respect

Self-Motivation

Employee takes initiative to be proactive in situations, works independently and remains solution driven
