Staying healthy while traveling requires planning and preparation. Immunization is one of the best forms of protection for travelers. Many Vaccine-preventable diseases are rarely seen in the United States are still prevalent in other parts of the world. The Sedgwick County Health Department (SCHD) offers travel vaccines to protect against diseases that aren't common in the United States. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advises you to make sure you are up-to-date with all routine vaccinations before you travel. Consult the CDC travel website at https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/ and contact the SCHD at 316-660-7362 with your travel immunization questions.
