Hypertension Awareness & Prevention Program (HAPp)
The Sedgwick County Health Department has partnered with K-State Research and Extension (KSRE) to provide a free self-monitoring blood pressure program.
This progressive, four-month program improves the health and well-being of participants through hypertension (high blood pressure) awareness, blood pressure self-monitoring, and prevention. HAPp uses KSRE health literacy programming (e.g., Stay Strong, Stay Healthy; Walk Kansas; nutrition education, stress management) with participant coaching and lifestyle education. Participants will gain knowledge, skills and confidence in their ability to reduce and/or prevent high blood pressure.
Registration will open July 1, 2024, and will close at midnight on August 6, 2024.
Office hours must be scheduled in advance; walk-ins are not accepted. Each participant will sign up for a 15-minute time slot during the hours of 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. You must be registered for the program by August 6, 2024, to attend Office Hours and receive a free blood pressure monitor.
Nutrition Education Workshops are open to the public.
