2022 Recommended Budget
On July 14, the County Manager presented his 2022 Recommended Budget of $483,644,076. This budget follows an exceptional and unprecedented year where the focus of the organization was on response to the COVID-19 pandemic. For the 2022 budget the focus was on appropriate compensation for employees throughout the organization as well as adding resources for increases in the cost of doing business and continued recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Estimated assessed valuation growth in Sedgwick County is 3.62 percent and 2.32 percent in Fire District 1. Property tax rates are estimated to be 29.359 mills for Sedgwick County and 17.889 mills for Fire District 1. Commissioners are expected to vote on the 2022 budget on August 25 after holding two public hearings (August 5 at 6 p.m. and August 25 at 9 a.m.) and an online public budget forum (closed).
